When this order came in I was very excited at the idea of doing a Sesame Street cake. I grew up watching Sesame Street and now my 3yo boy is loving it also.
The only catch was it had to be egg-free. No matter, I thought, I am up for a culinary challenge! I mean, how hard can it be, right?
So I took to Google to figure out how to eliminate egg from the cake. I even went out and bought a no-egg egg replacement product. I tried 4 different recipes trying to perfect it and finally found one worthy of featuring in this cake. Seriously, I made this cake and thought to myself how could it not have egg in there!? Amazing!
I used Fondtastic gumpaste and fondant to create the decorative elements. I did have other brands but I found out as I went to make these that they contained egg (that surprised me). So I was feeling rather lucky that I tend to carry an assortment of products! 🙂
